Creating and managing a global digital platform ONEGEO.COM is a complex endeavour for GENERAL GEOLOGY LIMITED, necessitating expertise and proficiency across various scientific disciplines, industries, geopolitics, and social issues. To build trust among platform stakeholders and the general public, we emphasize key milestones in the company's history, showcasing the expertise gained by personnel across diverse areas crucial for managing the complex project ONEGEO.COM. A pivotal stage in the company's inception was the transfer of experience, competencies, and highly skilled specialists who were integral to establishing production companies within NADRA GROUP. The planned socialist economy of Ukraine underwent rapid decline during the transition to new market conditions. This period was particularly challenging for the geological industry, which had previously relied on state budget financing. The abrupt reduction and subsequent cessation of this funding resulted in the collapse of geological production enterprises and research institutions, and the loss of invaluable geological materials and collections. Specialists dismissed from the enterprises of the State Geological Industry found employment in private companies of NADRA GROUP, contributing to the formation of their high level of professionalism.
The first company in the NADRA GROUP was established on April 22, 1991. Over time, this company created new specialized service enterprises and acquired former state-owned ones during their privatization, aiming to build a business providing a wide range of geological exploration services, the services for environmental protection and remediation, as well as manufacturing tools and equipment necessary for these services. The clients of the NADRA GROUP included investors, production companies, and governments. Thus, the private NADRA GROUP production companies contributed to preserving traditions, achievements, and the further development of Ukrainian geology.
Over the years, NADRA GROUP companies have operated as the national geological hub, completed more than a thousand independent projects related to the exploration and support of energy, mineral, and water resource extraction, environmental protection, conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity, as well as the manufacturing of tools and equipment necessary for these services, both in Ukraine and in more than 20 countries worldwide.
In Ukraine alone, the companies have discovered 83 new oil and gas fields and deposits for both Ukrainian and international extraction companies. They have also completed 22 geological exploration projects in 12 countries worldwide. Thus, the initial significant stage in the company's history involved establishing and operating NADRA GROUP production companies, which employed a linear business model and accumulated substantial experience in industrial activities.
The second historical stage of NADRA GROUP's operations was transitioning to the next level of business – project management of a network of partner enterprises. NADRA GROUP companies, in addition to their own specialized services, production and supply of devices and equipment, provided customers with a set of integrated solutions to ensure the implementation of their projects as a whole. Integrated solutions were provided by both NADRA GROUP subsidiaries and third-party independent service and equipment providers. At the same time, NADRA GROUP companies became the general contractors of the projects and were fully responsible to customers for the entire range of integrated solutions.
By providing services to three groups of clients — investors, production companies, and governments — and understanding the needs of each group, interdependence, the necessity of cooperation, while also considering the interests of local communities during and after project execution, NADRA GROUP has implemented a new model of balanced business.
NADRA GROUP was selecting partners for the entire value chain and focusing on delivering a comprehensive range of services required by customers for integrated solutions.
The experience and competencies gained by NADRA GROUP companies have enabled them to develop project management within of the partner network as the primary business direction and significantly expand the areas of activities.
Subsequently, significant expansion of the international network of partner enterprises enabled NADRA GROUP to progress to its current stage of business: project management of the global digital ecosystem ONEGEO.COM, embodying the ideas of New Geology in the global digital realm.
The global environmental perspective calls for an urgent shift of humanity towards a sustainable development model: societal needs must be met without harming the planet and future generations. Today, it's not sufficient for businesses to merely demonstrate rapid growth and profit. In the era of the reputational economy, trust in the professional community, transparency in business operations, and a balanced approach to production are of paramount importance, along with corporate contributions to advancing the global agenda.
The concept of sustainable development embraced by NADRA GROUP companies has always been based on voluntary principles of environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and effective corporate governance (ESG – Environmental, Social, Governance), reflecting the corporate responsibility philosophy of NADRA GROUP companies:
- responsible environmental stewardship: preserving and responsibly using natural resources through resource-efficient production practices and initiatives in green transformation;
- social responsibility, including upholding high ethical standards in societal interactions, supporting social initiatives, and community development.
- consistent adoption of global standards and modern approaches to corporate governance.
Over the course of its activities, NADRA GROUP companies, in collaboration with public organizations, have implemented over 300 ESG projects, the majority of which are socially oriented projects. These projects involved thousands of representatives from industrial companies, researchers from various fields, university professors, industry veterans, students, and schoolchildren.
